'Echo's'
Frames without skin and human soul, but still with their timeless connection of the collective memory.
/
rr
'Echos' is set in a ruin, with architectural lines of disappeared structures and dates of frozen elements. They are frames without skin and human soul, yet with their timeless connection of collective memory. It gives a pulsating effect.
rr
What inspired me:
During a museum visit I saw a harpsichord in a corner. It stood there as one of the many objects, without sound with only its casing, public sound flowed in through an open window. I came to the thought that nowadays pretty much everything is digitized and arranged as objects. Only public life is still somewhat analogous.
That moment gave me the inspiration for 'Echos' as a stationary repetitive effect.
rr
I looked for elements that have disappeared and used them as material, always with thoughts of transience with its fragments that remain as data.
But is there a transience, because there is also such a thing as a collective / cultural memory.

r
Some elements I used:
- A ruin with its missing layers.
- Human remains as frames without a home and soul.
- I have processed several fraces of K87 B minor for harpsichord by Domenico  Scarlatti (1685-1757) into new data.
- Pianist Vladimir Horowitz performed this work regularly, the last romantic, his approach is that each note stands alone but also in the whole, he dared to stop time.
- Surrounding sound as a remaining public analog (not digitized) in a continuum.
- A window from the Dutch museum De Pont, Tilburg.
- The light from outside.

'Rebirth',
a poetry of chance and change.
w
During the first days of covid-19, the pandemic seemed so far away in the Western world. But here too came the fate.
The general concept of time came to a standstill. People experienced the environment in which they lived differently. This sudden silence gave us an opportunity for change and opportunity.
w
The texture of 'Rebirth, a poetry of chance and change' consists of different elements. Visually there is a cornfield and its horizon. The stems rise and fall, giving us a sign of awareness of the eternal. It is also a source of nutrition for life. The empty seats is another element, asking who was sitting on it? Who can sit on it to reconnect each organism?
rr
The external ambient noises are both sounds that were heard in the previous period and during the pandemic. During the lockdown, the inaudible became audible, as it were, including a protest demonstration against nationalists, indicating that a virus of unrest was already present before the pandemic.
r
w
The music is inspired by the romantic pinnacle of chamber music, namely the first movement of Johannes Brahms clarinet quintet Op. 115 (1891). The theme here is being missed and the eternal fate of storm and urge. The search for peace and value.
This theme plays out throughout the course of 'Rebirth, a poetry of chance and change'.

'Mouvement'
It is not about the highlights of the cities and its associated culture, but its movement.
/

Mouvement was created through a partnership based on the concept of Paul Frankhuijzen. His idea was to work together with artists from different disciplines to create the video installation Mouvement.
Concept music Paul Frankhuijzen, video Judith Leysner, text Florette Dijkstra, image The City One Minutes, Sandberg Institute Amsterdam, producer Axes jazzpower Eindhoven.

rr
Mouvement expresses and depicts the movements and tensions within a city. This is expressed in music, video and text. In the performance, each discipline stands on its own and forms part of the whole, as it is for the inhabitants of a city, who live their individual lives and contribute to the large, organic network. Mouvement does not reflect the cultural highlights, but ordinary life and its actions.

'Behind the Mountains'

The video installation 'Behind the Mountains'
takes place in a landscape of apparently frozen silence.
w
When a society becomes intoxicated by discussions and abuse of power, false voids arise. People go in search of hope and peace, they symbolically travel through the mountains with the hope of a better life behind the mountains.
The Alps is one of those mountain ranges through which people have traveled and gained inspiration for centuries.
For example, Richard Strauss composed 'Eine Alpensinfonie', Gustav Mahler had his so-called composing houses there.
Numerous historical figures from Hannibal, Julius Caesar, Luther, Goethe passed through the Alps. The writer Paolo Cognetti wrote the novel 'The Eight Mountains' about friendship and man's search for purity.

The elements.

The song De Abschied by Gustav Mahler is a great source of inspiration. Is about the beauty of loneliness & pain: of strength & freedom' and the nature that we must cherish. I took the following words (moments) from the lyric as inspiration.
w

Die sonne

mit seinen Schatten

O sieh!

der Mond Ich spure

Der Bach singt
Die Blmen blasen

Die Erde atmet

Die Welt

Es wechet kuhl

Ich stehe hier

Ich harre sein

Ich sehne-mich

die Schönheit

Wo bliest du?

O Schonheit

Er stieg vom Pferd

Er fragte ihm

Er sprach, Er sprach

Die liebe Erde

Und ewig, ewig, ewig....

The changing nature of the mountainous area of Monviso, Southern Cozie Alps Italy.
Fragments from a debate about stochastic terrorism, which is perceived as a wave of mega data.
. . . . . . . . . . . .⌂
Signal words of Hope and walk pronounced in different languages. Fantasy gives hope and therefore provides a perspective. Walking means getting moving.
Footsteps through the eternal mountains.

The form of the presentation is a triptych, with no meaning as separate parts but rather as one image. As a symbolism of eternity in which we live, with its cyclical effect the landscape.
